Introduction
Outstanding Hillview is situated just outside of Dongguan city. The club is home to 36 holes - the C&D layout (Master Course) is among the best in the country.

Club Facilities & Service

The clubhouse is enormous and packed full of first-rate facilities. The service from the staff was excellent and the food was jolly good as well.

Course Design

The Master Course (C&D) is not for those who struggle in the sand. Designer Jim Engh has put in some absolutely whopping bunkers (especially on the front nine) so watch out.

The course is realatively forgiving off the tee however, which makes it very playable. The greens feature tonnes of break which can leave you looking more than a little foolish. The difficulty of the Master lies in the approach shots. Water, those deep bunkers, and tricky greens mean good iron players will hold the advantage.

So tosum up, this is one of the most exciting course I've played. The course measures just 6,355 yards from the blue tee, but due to a couple of spilt fairways & those massive & deep bunkers - most of them are 2 to 3 meters deep! If your shot is off line - you'd better start praying as you will be looking at a Bogey at best.

But if you are able to navigate around the bunkers, this is a fun course to play.

If you play to your handicap you've done exceedingly well.

Maintenance of Fairways & Greens

Excellent - felt like I was in Augusta.

The greens were also in good shape.

Caddy's Service & knowledge of the course
The caddies we had that day (August 2005) were great. Very happy and jolly girls who also gave sound advice. English was surprisingly good as well which made it possible to communicate :) Definitely better than most.

007's rating

High handicappers will struggle with the bunkers and some of the carries over water. The course isn't long (from the blue) so as long as you can stay clear of the sand and avoid three putting a lot you should do ok. Albatross.
