Hong
Kong to Zhuhai Ferry pier 1'10", shuttle to club 50-60" |
| Introduction |
|
The country club was completed at around 97 and a golf course was added & opened for business in 2001 but the owner kept the club very private
and not until recently they allow non-members to stay & play and boy......am
I pleased they made this decision! Want to know why.........will
tell you in a minute.
The club can provide
shuttle service from Zhuhai pier (coach will takes
about 60 minutes, small car will be 50' ) if you want to go there
on your own, make sure the taxi driver knows the correct route &
agree the fare (negotiate, the fare should be around 140-150 RMB)
before you hop on.

| Club
service & facilities |
|
The club
is fairly big with reasonable facilities and a good size locker
room, snooker room, conference room, two swimming
pools, tennis courts, gun club, hunting area & tennis, you or your kids can also play small boat & fish at the reservor just below the clubhouse. The service of
the staff were OK, one thing worth mentioning is the club's restaurant
uses all the local produce, from vegetables to poultries....all
are very fresh, the lounge
even have an unusual feature in southern China..........a genuine
fireplace!

Had a quick look of the view over the balcony
of the club just before I tee off........wow!

| Maintenance
of greens & fairways |
|
Perfect,
both greens & fairways are lush and beautiful.
As to the view & surrounding......this has to be one of the
best I have seen........and because of the club offers hunting facilities
nearby.......they have lots of ducks
& birds around the golf course.

| Caddy's
service & knowledge of the course |
|
Depends on your luck, generally, the girls are not as good as the boys (most of them play golf at the course). If you prefer a more experenced caddie, don't hesitate to ask the caddie master.

The course
is built on the hillside and around a big reservoir with lots of
big elevation changes sometimes 10 stories high! One thing you won't
find here is boredom as each fairway has a different layout, it
could be a big dogleg or hitting tee shot up or downhill......very
interesting as well as challenging course indeed.
Some of the
fairways look very intimating from the back tee, be very careful
with your club selection, don't be too greedy or you will be punished.
There is a real
19th hole for free !
I like the
course's quiet surrounding very much.....and the club's
accommodation didn't disappoint with very nice view & setting (the decoration is a lodge/country style with wooden panels).
To sum up,
the club offers a nice & beautiful environment, the course design is exciting & challenging, if you have time, stay
for another day - this is a must play course. Eagle 8/2009
