| The Golf |
| This is the first golf course by Robert Trent Jones Jr in Fuzhou. I was told that this is a seaside course but hardly find the ocean because it is surrounded by thick Horse Tail Trees and Pine trees. Very nice though. The course is flat and natural, meadow fescue can be found everywhere. More like a link course indeed. Only few water hazards come into play. The difficulties mainly come from numerous bunkers and the hard blow wind. The course consisted with various left and right doglegs holes, straight fairways and a semi island green. The landing area is quite generous, greens are reasonbly large with some contour. The meadow fescue looks pretty but when you get into it, it becomes demons to get rid of. Wind is also a major factor. |

A very enjoyable course, with mature and natural surroundings. No villas, factories, lamp post nor wires hanging around. It is walkable during cooler seasons but buggy is reccommended during hot summers. And they allow access to the fairways. Infact, the heat is much better than in HK, less humid and usaually with refreshing sea breeze.
Not too impressed with the very basic and detoriated clubhouse, not that I want those luxury hotel type, a tidy and neat one will just fit. So, renovation is needed in my opinion.
Local golf population is not high. I was the only one playing on that day. Koreans will come over in groups during winter season.
If you tired about the crowd Guangdong courses. It is not a bad idea to fly here for a couple of relaxing rounds.
