Introduction
This is the first golf course built in Yunnan Province fifteen years ago. Designed by Australian designer Les Watts, the same designer for Noble Merchant and Green Bay Golf Club in Shenzhen.
It taks around half an hour ride from the Kunming City centre.
I did'nt play this course on my last visit to Kunming due to some negative comments from friends but heard they have made some improvements this time so I decided to give it a try this time.

Club Facilities and Service
This mid size clubhouse is a bit dated. Having said that, it is still clean and tidy with basic facilities such as reception, a small proshop, changing room, restaurant. Services is at satisfactory level. Sunblock is also provided at the starter.

The Golf

This is a mountain course where you find great change of elevation. Apart from the Par 3s, you won't able to see the green from teebox at most if not all holes. This course features plenty of dogleg holes and most of the time, you are required to place your ball to a good position in order to open up the green. Length measured 6,500 yards from the blue, but due to dogleg holes, it doesn't play that long. Some holes might only need a wood or long irons to tee off. The contour of the greens are strong, putting is not easy..... .Play video.

Course Maintenance

Well above average especially the Bentgrass greens. Good!

Caddie Service

007 Rating

This old course is mature and provids some excellent views.
The course maintanence is pretty good (out of my expectation), layout is very challenging especially your first time play. Accuracy and club selection is vital and long hitters might only gain some advantage in Par 5s and a couple of long Par 4s. Good approaching and putting skills will definitely save your some strokes.

Overall, I'm pleased to be here Eagle 07/09
