| Introduction |
| I was aware that
Shenzhen was building 3 public course sometime ago but little did I know that
our authority on mother land is so efficient that 1 is already finished &
started business (would like to thank our reader DC who gave us the contact of
the course!) So
off I went the following week to check it out & give our readers a look at
our very first Public Golf course in China! Although
the course is quite new ( I had not much idea where it was), it was not too difficult
to locate as it is just on the left side of a highway, about 40 minutes from Huangang
and costed around 130 to get there, (will be a little lower and quicker from Lowu).
If your Taxi driver don't know the correct route you can try and ask the local
where the cycling stadium is and
they should know. |

| Club
Facility & service |
| Small
but reasonable clean with basic amenities, service was O.K. |
|
| Course
Design |
| The
front 9 are was easier with not much elevation changes but the back are tougher
to play & to walk (better get a get on warmer days (they are KSC north tough)
The most greens are turtle back shape & bunkers are generally shallow.

|
| Maintenance
of fairways & greens |
| Due
to a heavy traffic of the course, it was sad to see some of thet greens were not
in good shape & divots on fairways were not repaired properly.

| Caddy
service & knowledge of the course |
| A
new course with new caddies - what can you expect? |

| My
rating |
| I
like the design, it is simple but interesting to play, some of the holes on the
back 9 are existing to play too, as some of the holes (short par 5s) will require
a blind tee shot, course knowledge would help to to cut corners.....to reach in
2. The course
is very busy due to the cheap fees & close proximity to Huanggang......this
will & perhaps already another KSC......you can book but can't get through
the telephone on weekends. Birdie 8/2003
