Meilan Golf Club opened for business at the end of 2009, it is a sister club of the Beijing Golf & Country club, the course has 3 nine holes as A, B & C course (C has night golf), the club is only 10 minutes drive from the Haikou international airport and about 30-40 minutes from the city center. |

The club house is big but I feel the deco feels a bit old school , the service of the staff is quick & attentive...may be it was not too busy when I played. |

| The design is resort style, most fairways are generally flat, wide and very generous, no hidden & nasty surprises & what you see is what you get sort of course, from the blue tee it measures 6,431 yards, not too demanding for most amateurs golfers, the main defense of the course are bunkers but they are not really deep & most greens are not very sloppy too so good golfers will find the course not too challenging. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

The first 2 holes were pretty bad but it got better, caddie said they had a lot of rain & part of the fairways were flooded. The greens were fine though. .... 2011/5 |

Only had time to play the A & B course, the design of the 2 are fairly straight forward, and dare I say simple (Does not mean it is easy!), high handicappers will find it fun to play. The course needs more time to mature & hopefully the management will improve the drainage & ensure the condition of the course will be consistently good. Due to its close proximity to the airport, it is ideal for us to have another round before catching the plane : ) Birdie 05/2011 |
