This is my first visit to Chengdu, and for some reason, my first & second round of golf in Sichuan are both designed by JMP, the first round is the Grand Hills which was just completed in 2008, the 2nd is Luxehills which was opened a year early & a more well known course due some big tournaments such as China Open are played here. The golf course, just like thousands others, is a part of the big luxury real estate development and is located 36 kilometers from the city centre, with good traffic, it will properly takes about 40 minutes by car

The club is quite sizable & nicely decorated, the locker room is comfortable & the terrace is ideal for a drink or 2 after the round.

The golf course is built on a densely wooded area, most fairways are generally on the narrow side, and according to records, the course is littered with 142 bunkers & smaller & undulating greens to test your nerves & accuracy, to make it even more difficult (or shall I say more challenging?), the blue tee is 6,635 yards, so if you are not a big hitter & more importantly, precise, play from the more friendly white tee (6,059 yards), your round will be a lot more fun.

Out of the 18 holes, I like the interesting #17 par 3 & the tough finishing #18 par 5.。

Most fairways & greens were in great shape, well done!

Nice club & facilities, very scenic & quiet environment, the design has a fair bit of variety but on the tougher side, all in all, it is a fun course & well worth a try. Birdie. 5/2011

Had a quick walk around the at the city centre shopping area next to the hotel after golf, both shopping & food were great.
