Golf007 Amateur Championship Tour: 10th Round

Feb 28, the final round and also a major event of the year was held at the Green Bay Golf Club, Shenzhen.

After 4 hours of intense battle, John Lau emerged as the winner with a respectable gross score of 78 and his accurate iron also took honor of the nearest to the pin award, David Largent had to settle for 2nd place finish with a score of 80 while & Ivan Leung won the longest drive award and a 3rd place with a score of 81.

In the Nett division, Cynthia Lee, a regular player of the 007 tour, took the title with a 68.

With the conclusion of the last major event, let’s look at who is on the top of the order of merit & recipients of the Player of the year award, at the men’s gross score division, it was a 2 men race between Law Chi Ming & Ivan Leung both have been fighting a closely fought battle since the tour started, however, Law started poorly with a double on the 9th & triple on the 10th that ruined his chance and enable Ivan to take home the top honor of ‘Player of the year’ award.

In the men’s net division, David Wan was on the top of the leader board before the last round, but John Lau, did not give up and fought his way back to the top by winning the Green Bay tournament in convincing fashion and a worthy winner of the “player of the year’ award.

At the prize presentable dinner, tournament director Bruce Chan thank all the members, players & sponsors for supporting the tour, and announced the tour is completed.
